The day we cooked
for the queen...

An
outside catering company from Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria had the
honour of being appointed to cater for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth
II and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, together with 200
dignitaries at Lancaster Town Hall.
Andrew
and Gillian Southcott run Andrew Southcott Catering an outside
catering company specialising in Weddings, corporate functions and
outside events.
For
the Southcotts who started their catering business in March
1999, it was the greatest accolade imaginable.
Four
menus were delivered to Buckingham Palace for selection and we
understand the Queen personally chose the menu to be served. Fresh
salmon to start, racks of Mansergh Hall lamb, prepared by Higginsons
of Grange, summer pudding and coffee, the beans were specially
roasted and blended by Farrers of Kendal.
Andrew
and Gillian said "the whole day was a great success, the
highlight of our careers and a great honour to have been appointed
Royal caterers for the day".
Andrew
and Gillian had the privilege of meeting Her Majesty after the
Lunch, when the Queen personally thanked them for the meal
